A Windows PC running Windows 7 or newer. The official Cemu website mentions that it can support down to 4GB of RAM, however this is not ideal and will likely lead to a poor experience. RAM – 8GB of RAM is the minimum recommendation. For Nvidia, you shouldn’t go lower than the GTX 700 and for AMD the minimum recommendation is HD 7000. AMD GPUs will also work, but they do rely on the PC to perform well. GPU – Nvidia GPUs are a great choice and can greatly reduce the burden that’s put on the CPU.Apple silicon chips can usually handle the performance needs required, however actual Wii U game compatibility isn’t the greatest with macOS. Non-Ryzen AMD chips aren’t recommended because they lack single core processing speed and processors like this will often struggle with most Wii U games. CPU – recommended to have at least an AMD Ryzen 3 or Intel i5 processor. The following are recommended specs for your PC to run Cemu well: Hardware RecommendationsĮven though the Wii U isn’t exactly the most high end console power wise (in typical Nintendo fashion), emulating it requires a machine much more powerful than the actual Wii U console. Most people will be able to run Wii U games on Cemu at full speed without any major issues, but hardware requirements should definitely be considered. I guess. Before we begin, there are a few prerequisites that we need to go over to make sure you’re ready to get everything setup. In the meantime it's definitely good for those who don't actually own a Wii U to start with. So yeah I'll probably be interested to play BotW on that emulator the day it has actual higher resolution textures and 'natively' outputs at 1080p. anyway it's a good thing that the game is really good, because to the eyes of a person like me who always look at details it's bad enough that had it been any other game I wouldn't have bothered. It's "just" 1080p, and I kept the Wii U TV settings to output at 720p to 'minimize' the impact of the alisasing to fit my resolution. My only 'issue' with it is only that the aliasing / jaggedness is absolutely insane on my monitor. I haven't finished the game yet but I'm enjoying it fine (Wii U version as I mentioned). good, I guess, to see that CEMU can run BotW already. very newbie when it comes to emulation in general.Īnyway, it's. two or three times the textures resolution? Is that even possible? Genuine questions here. I suppose that a better final question here would be: will the CEMU version of BotW ever get higher resolution textures and ouput at a higher screen resolution in the future? Something like 1080p native resolution and say. But ultimately the textures and the native game resolution isn't 900p. Now, if I'm not mistaken, I could use extra shaders, or something along the lines of Reshade / SweetFX to add some AA and change the clarity / sharpness, etc. So if I was to play that on my 1080p monitor as I actually do with my Wii U version (although via the HDMI signal) then it wouldn't actually look better, is what I get here. However, CEMU emulates the 720p Wii U version. More pixels render the scene and adds details (sure they aren't major but it's easy enough to pick up especially on distant architectures/buildings/ruins/trees, etc). In other words, the Switch version outputs at 900p when docked. Now, what I'd like to know is if the game's textures and/or 'native' output resolution didn't change from the 720p resolution? It's a Wii U emulator so, it's emulating the Wii U version of the game (that much is obvious). So, pardon my ignorance, but just to understand this emulated version properly I have to ask.
